A fierce war continues between Israel and Hamas. The Israeli army has suffered its biggest setback so far in the war with Hamas in southern Gaza. Together 24 Israeli soldiers killed. This is being said to be Israel’s biggest loss since the ground war with Hamas started.
The IDF said in a statement that during the fighting with the Hamas, a rocket (RPG) was fired towards a tank protecting the unit. 21 soldiers were killed in this attack. The IDF said two two-story buildings collapsed after the blast, which was likely caused by explosives laid by Israeli soldiers.
‘News Uptake’ has received information that 24 Israeli soldiers have been killed at a time when the Israeli army enters a new phase of fighting in the troubled region. The IDF has pulled out some troops from Gaza.
Most of the Israeli soldiers killed were in or near the buildings, IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said in a statement. According to the IDF, 24 Israeli soldiers killed included a captain and two majors. An IDF spokesman said Tuesday that it was still unclear what caused the explosion in the building.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reacted strongly to the death of 24 Israeli soldiers killed in the battle with Hamas. He said the deaths of soldiers marked “one of the most difficult days since the beginning of the war”.
He said, “I am heartbroken for our martyred brave soldiers. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers. The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.”
At the same time, the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza said that the number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7 has increased to 25,295. So far 63 thousand people have been injured in the attack.
