Astronomers have found a new 'super earth revolving around a red star which is 137 light years away.
As per NASA, this new super earth, TOI-715 b is one and a half times wider than earth and orbits within habitable zone of its parental star.
A Universe Today report says that TOI-715 b is closer to its star and takes 19 days to complete one round of the star.
Planet TOI- 715 b will be closely examined by James Webb Space Telescope to find out any indication of atmosphere.
Astronomers have been using TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite) which was launched in 2018 to find out such habitable zones.
In an attempt to find earth-2.0, astronomers have found many super-earths.
In 2023, TESS discovered a super earth which was named TOI -1680 b. It is 50 times larger than our earth.
The Subaru Telescope in Japan had discovered another super-earth, Ross-508b which was four times bigger than earth.
The new super-earth would be the smallest habitable zone planet discovered till now.
