Telugu-language Indian superhero film 'Hanu Man' was released in America released on January 12 and has emerged as a hit in North America.

Besides the US, it has already grossed $ 9 million all across the world, including $6 million in India and $188,000 in the UK.

'Hanu Man' was distributed in North America by California based Nirvana Studios and opened in 430 locations. Now the studio is adding screens, considering its success.

The film revolves around Hanumanthu, in a fictional village Anjanadri who accidentally awakens the Hindu God Hanuman's powers.

The film is produced by Niranjan Reddy Kandagatla, directed by Prasanth Varma and stars Teja Sajja.

'Hanu Man' was made on a modest budget of about $2.5 million.

The film was promoted via social media and was backed by offline promotions mainly in South Asian restaurants and shops.

According to Hindu mythology, Hanuman is the devoted follower of Lord Ram in whom the interest has been quite high ahead of the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

'Hanu Man' reveals at the end that a sequel of the film will be released in 2025.
