William and Stephanie: Today they may not be as popular but in the 70s, 283,456 babies were named William and 160,464 babies were named Stephanie.

Brian and Heather: 322,747 babies were christened Brian and 203,912 were named Heather in that decade making them popular names of that time.

Robert and Angela: 225,264 girls were Angela in the 70s making it 7th most popular name of the decade while 397,295 boys were named Robert.

John and Lisa: During the 70s, 402,715 Johns were born in the US while 228,690 girls were named Lisa.

James and Kimberly: In this decade, 444,823 boys were named James and 229,106 girls were called Kimberly.

David and Michelle: During the 70s, 445,842 Davids were born and 249,138 girls were named Michelle.

Jason and Melissa: In the 70s, 462,821 boys were named Jason and 253,274 baby girls were christened Melissa.
